Abstracts

 

The American College of Preventive Medicine would like to thank everyone who submitted an abstract for presentation at Preventive Medicine 2008.  

ACPM received a total of 152 abstracts for consideration. Abstracts covered preventive medicine and public health topics. Each submission fell under one of the five conference tracks: public health practice; clinical preventive medicine; healthcare quality improvement; prevention policy; and teaching preventive medicine, in addition, topics in cardiovascular health and adolescent health where also received.    

Oral Presentations:
Abstracts selected for oral presentation will present the results of scientific research, technological advances, innovations in program design, or practice methods. Authors will present their findings in concurrent sessions organized by subject area.


Poster Presentations:

Abstract authors will have their research graphically presented as a poster presentation at Preventive Medicine 2008 in the exhibit hall on Thursday, February  21, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. Poster will remain in the exhibit hall for display until Saturday 23, 2008.  Presenters will be available to discuss their work and answer questions during the formal poster session and reception. Abstracts for poster presentations will present the results of scientific research, technological advances, and innovations in program design, practice methods, or educational techniques.

 

 

This year, the American Cancer Society will once again sponsor a prize for the best cancer prevention and control poster.  This competition will be limited to current and former recipients of the American Cancer Society’s Physician Training Award in Preventive Medicine.
